About the Book:
Man with a Blue Scarf: On Sitting for a Portrait by Lucian Freud
Martin Gayford

Author Martin Gayford is an art-critic-turned-art-subject for renowned 21st century portraitist, Lucian Freud. In this book Gayford engages readers in the 9-month painting process: wearing the same clothes, sitting in the same position, finding the same light, his notes from hundreds of hours of sitting, and his brief dialogues with the artist. This is a story of creative process, the tale of a great artist, and the unabridged process of a modern master at work.
